Abarán celebrated World Environment Day (07/06/2010)

Paseo de la Ermita welcomed the activities organized by the City of Abarán on the occasion of World Environment Day under the program of the local Environment Week under the slogan "Abarán wears green reminded about the importance in care environment

Abarán City Council held on World Environment Day, celebrated on 5 June with a series of activities organized under the Environment Week "Abarán wears green."

The Department of Environment enabled a number of stands in the Paseo de la Ermita which gave the visitors with green hats and cloth bags to reduce consumption of single use bags.

Also installed two bouncy castles for the amusement of the smallest and, in collaboration with the Employment Workshop "Andarraix" organized a series of activities aimed at caring for the environment: crafts from reusable materials-school balls, pens, picture frames or - run "Safari" with an explanation of the fauna and flora existing on our planet, creation of "glasses", seedlings of native flora and children more aware of the importance of reforestation, drawing and writing contest, with the production of books on the natural environment and a gymkhana where participants enjoyed by the original tests.

Abarán Mayor, Antonio Eugenio Gómez, visited different areas in the Hermitage enabled to enjoy the children, where all participants received a diploma of this conference.

Abarán Radio broadcast a program live from the Paseo de la Ermita which was attended by the Councillor for the Environment, José Gabriel Cano Montoro, director of the Workshop on Employment, Marcos Ayala and monitors and student-workers and Employment workshop as the children enjoyed the activities.

I also held the outdoor photographer Rally, organized by the Department of Environment, with start and finish in the Hermitage.

The awards were presented at the closing ceremony for Environment Week held at 20.00 pm in the Teatro Cervantes, where he paid tribute to Juan José Martínez Soler, Juan XXIII school teacher and creator of the route of the Norias.
