Local Employment Centres for Women have created over 4,000 jobs in two years (12/07/2010)

Local Employment Centres for Women have made possible the establishment of 200 enterprises and more than 4,000 jobs within two years of operation, as highlighted by this afternoon the Minister for Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, speaking Inaugural Course on Women in the Rural World, which is taught in Abarán, from today until next Friday, organized by the Universidad Internacional del Mar.

The Training Plan, launched this year by the Institute of Women of the Region, was also the subject of comment by the counselor, who referred to the workshops, courses and seminars that are taking place, free of charge, through of municipalities, focusing on issues such as equality, new technologies, health and gender, environment, resources for immigrants and social skills.

Similarly, Bascuñana said that since last May, a mobile classroom consisting of two buses are traveling the 45 municipalities in the region to approach and incorporate new technologies to rural women.

An estimated 2,000 women are learning to seek information and training through the Internet and conduct business via the network.

The course seeks to highlight the situation of women in rural areas of the region and explore the possibilities of equality policies in this area.

Also, try to analyze methods of intervention in rural development and assess the consequences of masculinization in this area.

In the various interventions planned include such issues as the role of institutions in rural development, the situation of women, rural entrepreneurs and associations of women in this social sector.

Are also scheduled visits to farms in the area and heritage resources and tourism, as the route of the wells and lodgings.

Accompanying the Minister at the opening ceremony Abarán Mayor, Antonio Eugenio Gómez, and the Vice Chancellor of University Extension, University of Murcia, Francisco Guillermo Diaz.

The course is held in the Multipurpose Integrated Center in the town.
