Juan Llorente to analyze and apply for assistance after the storm of last Friday which again will have fatal consequences for many farmers and employees of our population as a result of damage to table grapes, stone fruit and infrastructure mainly late in the Jumilla area bordering (Casablanca, El Boqueron and Vergeles)

This will involve significant loss of income among farmers for the loss of their crops and infrastructure as well as many wages for the fruit that is not collected.

The Delegate of the Government once again has shown its commitment as well as the head of the Hydrographic Confederation: Ms. Charo Quesada to do everything in their power also pledging to visit our town and check for damage on the ground this same week.

However, it is now the Autonomous Region through the Ministry of Agriculture and Public Works who have to assess the damage and the various municipalities who have to through the Plenum, to request aid for later transfer to the Ministry .

Basically, we face a situation similar to last year at this time when another storm destroyed part of our crops and trees and would follow the same procedures, noting that disappeared after a disaster area declaration in which streamlines procedures in these cases.

On the other hand we remember the great work done by our colleague Rafael González Tovar last year that was reflected in the Royal Decree 12/2009 approved a few days after the disaster and the subsequent Act 3 / 2010 through which compensation was awarded for damage to crops and infrastructure for our region worth more than 5 million Euros have already gained our farmers as well as lines of credit and social measures.

Since the Socialist Party, we have put in place to meet with concerned, technicians and also the socialist mayor of Jumilla Paco Abellán (one of the most affected municipalities) and we offer our cooperation to both the City and any person or institution affected by this unfortunate event.
