Carrasco Mercedes Ruiz, president of the Association of Housewives, Consumers and Users "San Cosme y San Damián, has been chosen herald of Christmas 2010.
The event will take place next Thursday, December 23 at 20.00 pm in the Parish of St. Paul.
The councilman of Culture of the City, Isabel Carrasco Molina, praised the work of the herald as president of the Housewives' Association.
He added that "a person who actively participates in the culture and festivities of our people, who know our traditions and helped to perpetuate forever Abarán behavior," said the councilman.
"The excitement of Christmas in our town is linked to the fittings and the Masses of Gozo, the carols, the cribs as a reference for our beliefs and especially the Day of the Child, the large festival where families and Abarán friends will gather to celebrate Jesus, "said Isabel Carrasco.
"In this context, the Christmas proclamation also reflects the love for our traditions, toward which we turn abaraneros and visitors to ensure continuity and build Abarán identity, especially at this time so close and special," the council concluded.
