Denounce an illegal dump in the Cañada Real de los Cabañiles (20/02/2012)

In the Cañada Real de los Cabañiles there is another of landfills reported this week by Ecologists in Action.

This time is also found in the municipality of Abarán and the land is owned by the Autonomous Community of Murcia, to be a cattle track.

The complaint, which was filed with the Department of Environment, the City of Abarán and Seprona, indicated that the landfill is extended over a hundred meters, being very close to the Rambla del Moro.

They note that the area had already been made discharges for several years, but the situation has worsened in recent times to appreciate all types of waste such as rubble, wrecked cars, furniture, sofas, mattresses, wood, electronic wastes, waste solid waste, plastics, glass, including various toxic and hazardous such as pesticide containers.

The environmental organization calls for action, especially from the Directorate General Environment of the Ministry of the Presidency, since it is public land of the Autonomous Community corresponding to a cattle track.

According to the draft Animal Classification of Roads in the municipality of Abarán, Cañada Real de los Cabañiles has a width of 75 meters and 22 centimeters.

Ecologists in Action also recalls the importance of this pathway as a historical way, to correspond with a major communication routes since prehistoric times and that is part of the Roman road-Complutum Carthago Nova (1).

Understand why it is one more reason to stop fly-tipping in the area and proceed to the environmental recovery of the environment of this track livestock.

The illegal landfills generate significant environmental degradation of soil and landscape, generating emissions, in addition to other risks, such as health and fire.

It is ultimately the most visible impact of the current generated by the consumer society, based on a throwaway culture.
