Enel and Endesa Sole contracted to public lighting Abarán (31/01/2013)

The project provides for the hiring of local labor for maintenance work, thus contributing to regional development and creating jobs in the area.

Sole Enel and Endesa have been awarded a concession agreement for the management of public lighting Abarán Township, in the province of Murcia, in the form of Energy Service Company.

The contract stipulates that the winning companies made the investment necessary for the technological renovation of street lighting and, in turn, be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the service.

Sole Enel and Endesa are a leader in the provision of energy services, including efficient public lighting.

Together, they are leaders among Energy Service Company (ESCO) Spanish by number of awards in lighting.

In this sense, Endesa and Enel Sole Abarán made in 1919 renewed light points, representing 87% of total installed.

With this change of lighting is estimated to be a reduction of emissions of nearly 200 tons of CO2 per year, equivalent to more than 15,000 trees planted.

As part of the project, hire local labor to perform maintenance work, thus contributing to regional development and creating jobs in the area.

The award of this contract energy management is particularly relevant as they are not within the territory Abarán Endesa's distribution.

Like other municipalities that are managed in such regime, the project will be monitored from Abarán Smart Grid Service Center, Service Center for Endesa smart cities located in Seville.

From this control center is managed and monitored, as well as efficient lighting projects, charging infrastructure for electric vehicles installed by Enel and Endesa in Spain to date.

Likewise, experiments with micro networks, and analyzes and test new services for the cities of tomorrow.

The technology promoted by Enel and Endesa Sole is based on the use of efficient lamps with intelligent control of each light.

This increases the quality of the light, and there is considerable energy saving.

It also increases the average life span of 60,000 hours lamp beating and flexibility is gained in each light be programmed independently.

For municipalities, these projects will result in increased efficiency, reduced CO2 emissions and greater availability of lighting infrastructure to detect faults in real time.

In this sense, the local population increases comfort living in higher quality environments.
