Three major projects of the government team for 2010 (08/01/2010)

The launch of the network of water supply to industrial zones and districts, the tertiary treatment of wastewater treatment plant and the refurbishment of the entrances to the town, with elimination of curves and widening of roads, are the most immediate projects

The government team Abarán City Council continues with its initiative to improve the infrastructure of the municipality in order to meet the needs and demands of citizens.

The main actions to be carried out on the town and districts represent an investment of more than 7 million euros, as indicated by the local mayor, Antonio Eugenio Gómez.

- Red potable water supply to industrial zones and districts:

This is a major work for the drinking water supply districts of San José Artesano, Hoya del Campo and Sale of Aurora, as well as industrial centers and Acebuche Molax Barranco.

This work is funded entirely by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, with a sum in excess of 3.5 million euros.

Is awarded and works have already begun involving the completion of the survey.

- Tertiary treatment wastewater treatment plant:

Abarán City Council, through the Department of Agriculture, has conducted a series of negotiations with the Ministry to encourage farmers to use water in excellent condition.

The implementation of the tertiary system to allow municipal sewage is reused 100% of the water.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Water will invest 3.4 million euros in expanding Abarán treatment plant to provide the plant with tertiary treatment system.

This project will restore 1.5 hectometres of water per year with the highest quality and transparency for agricultural purposes.

The proposed expansion of municipal sewage, designed for a treatment capacity of 4,500 cubic meters per day is part of the environmental recovery of the river Segura and the results, will provide "clean, transparent and with the highest level of health" Abarán said Mayor Antonio Eugenio Gómez.

"Both projects together amount to more than 6 million which will result in the industrial and agricultural land," he stated.

- Renovation of the entrances to our town, with the elimination of dangerous curves or in poor visibility and road expansion.

Is funded by the Autonomous Community of Murcia, through the Ministry of Public Works and Highways, totaling over 1 million euros.

This project will be supplemented by another of the highway connecting the towns of Abarán and White (RM-B17), for which the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, through the Directorate General of Highways, will invest 233,160 euros and will involve the renovation of a section of road exposed to landslides or rocks in the road, with the elimination of curves and the construction of a drainage network.
