The Board of the Brotherhood of Holy Week Abarán, has made a contribution of 1,040 euros to support the sending of humanitarian aid to earthquake victims in Haiti.
The said amount has been entered into a joint account of the Red Cross.
Each and every one of several brotherhoods Pasionarias the municipality wanted to join this initiative and input, as we recounted the president of the local board, Roberto Gómez Fabra: "We felt that given the magnitude of this tragedy, not could remain unmoved, and that we should do what was in our hands to show our solidarity with the Haitian people. "
This is not the first time since the local board of the Brotherhood of Abarán is launching a joint action of this kind, since previously there were two popular collections through two separate marathons radio station in the town of Abarán: the first for the victims of the Tsunami disaster in Asia in 2004, and, later, for the benefit of needy children in the Third World.
"On this occasion, given that the economic situation our people are not going through its best moment, we decided to be ourselves who did an internal collection devoted to this end," Roberto told us.
Such financial support from the Brotherhood of Holy Week Abarán-channeled through the Red Cross, could soon be increased by a further contribution of a similar amount.
