The Department of Social Welfare reported on amendments to the Social Protection Program of the Family and Children.
The requirement of registration and coexistence is modified and establishes that at least one parent is registered in Abarán two years prior to the date of birth, and the coexistence of both parents, who must reside in the municipality at the time to seek assistance at birth.
This financial assistance under this program continues to be of 150 euros, as it was passed in Local Government on 16 January 2009.
With this measure Abarán City Council intends to extend the coverage of services and meet the needs of citizens, as there have been cases in which one spouse was not registered in Abarán and therefore could not apply for parents aid.
