The Ministry of Public Works and Planning, through the Directorate General of Highways, will install a system from landslides on the main access road to Abarán, MR-513, which connects the town with the A-30 (Cartagena -Albacete), to improve road safety for drivers and pedestrians.
Abarán Mayor, Antonio Eugenio Gomez said that this project is the result of extensive work of the government team as it continues its initiative to improve the infrastructure of the municipality in order to meet the needs and demands of citizens. "
Gómez described this agreement as an "achievement which will result in the improvement of the access road to our village" and has achieved "the benefit of abaraneros, with much work by this team of government and with the cooperation of Highways, "said Mayor Abarán.
The remodeling of hits to the municipality is one of the three major government projects TEAM 2010, with commissioning of the Network of Water Supply in industrial zones and districts and the implementation of the tertiary system to the municipal sewage, which will allow reuse of 100% water.
She will also be complemented with the conditioning of the road between the towns of Abarán and White (RM-B17), which construction began last January in which the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, through Directorate General of Highways, invests 233,160 euros.
This measure involves the redevelopment of a stretch of road exposed to landslides or rocks in the road, with the elimination of curves and the construction of a drainage network.
For his part, Director General of Highways, Jose Guijarro, said the performance in the RM-513, which runs adjacent to the slope of a hill, "will strengthen the road safety conditions and minimize breakdowns caused by the possibility of a landslide or stones on the road, which will benefit drivers in more than five million journeys a year recorded in this way, as well as pedestrians passing through the area. "
Through this project, which is currently under contract, we will act on the slope in areas susceptible to landslides, where seven wire mesh installed, four to five meters high, and a steel cable net protection 200 square meters "that will act as support and prevent slipping of rocks on the road," said the director general.
Jose Guijarro explained that "because of its uniqueness, the work of installing these systems involving an investment of over € 400,000 by the Ministry, will be made by qualified personnel to ensure proper placement."
