Abarán City Council on Monday introduced during the International University of the Sea, "Women in rural areas," which is taught in the Integrated Multi-Function Center (CIMA) from 12 to 16 June.
Directed by Francisco Carreño Riquelme Sandoval and José Prudencio Perea, is geared to college students, entrepreneurs, technical, employment and local development and anyone interested in the development and project pipeline.
The presentation of the course was chaired by the Mayor of Abarán, Antonio Eugenio Gomez, accompanied by the Vice Chancellor of University Extension, Francisco Guillermo Díaz Baños, the director of the Universidad del Mar, Manuel Lopez, Councilman Local Development and Employment, José Luis Tornero Prudencio and José Carpena Riquelme Perea, director of the course.
Riquelme Perez said that "we reflect on the shaping and Rural Development last year we were talking about sources of employment, and this year we decided to dedicate the course to more central aspects of rural development."
"Women have always been present in the social, economic and cultural development of rural areas and it has never recognized such a role, initially concealed this important role and, statistically, when we talked about it we did under the heading of 'family support 'he said.
"She was always subject to unpaid reproductive role which was outside any official statistics and social recognition, changes in rural areas where agriculture is increasingly losing weight, offer opportunities to become visible this role so important for women, "he said.
The Director of Social Policy, Women and Migration in the Region of Murcia, Joaquín Bascuñana, open the course with the mayor of Abarán, next July 12, a journey that will have the intervention of Maria Cruz Fernandez, DG Equality in Employment and MEP Cristina Gutiérrez Cortines.
The next day's journey is presented as a more academic focus on women as the mainstay of rural sustainability and will feature first-class specialists who develop their work in rural areas.
On day 14, the theme will focus on the experiences of women entrepreneurs in the Region of Murcia as day 15, it will review the situation of women in the rural region.
Finally, representatives of major associations of rural women at the national level will close the course, which run close by Teresa Moreno, Director of the Institute of Autonomous Women and Julio Bernal Fontes, Director General of Irrigation and Rural Development of the CARM.
