Redexis Gas, one of the leading companies dedicated to the transport and distribution of natural gas in Spain, will invest a total of 3 million euros to bring natural gas to Abarán, creating about 30 jobs during infrastructure construction.
This initiative will provide natural gas, a source of clean and efficient energy, to more than 13,000 inhabitants and nearly 2,000 homes, shops and small abaraneras industries.
The start of the supply, which will be done in stages, is scheduled for next June.
The director of Redexis Gas of the Mediterranean area (Murcia and Alicante), Pedro Santos, and the person in charge of Execution of Networks and Installations of the company in the Region of Murcia, Máximo Cánovas, met this morning with the mayor of Abarán, José Miguel Manzanares, and the Councilor for Health, Public Safety and Youth, Alba Gómez, to inform them of this comprehensive gasification project of the municipality.
After the meeting at the Town Hall, the municipal representatives and the directors of Redexis Gas have visited the canalization works that are currently being carried out in the Avenida de la Constitución, to check the progress of the natural gas distribution network in situ.
Redexis Gas has already completed the construction of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant -located next to the Blanca road, near the roundabout linking to the Rio Segura Avenue-, from which the supply will be made shortly. to the urban area through a canalized network.
A deposit with a storage capacity of 30 m3 has been installed in the LNG plant, which can be extended to another with the same characteristics when the demand of the municipality so requires.
In addition, it has a regasification system consisting of two aluminum heat exchangers, called requalifiers, and is equipped with a communication and remote control system, as well as video surveillance.
It has also completed the construction of the connection branch between the LNG plant and the population, with an extension of 750 meters of natural gas pipeline, built in high density polyethylene.
Likewise, the works of the urban distribution network have been started: the Avenue of the Station and the stretch that goes from the Avenida de Cieza to the La Constitución Avenue, currently working on the latter, have been channeled.
Canalization works will continue through Concordia, San Miguel, Avenida de Colón and David Templado.
All actions are being carried out in coordination with the Department of Public Safety, the Local Police, municipal technical services and the concessionaire water company.
To date, 1,300 meters of distribution network have been installed - it is expected to reach 5 kilometers before the end of the year - and the investment already exceeds 300,000 euros.
Presence in the Region
In the Region of Murcia, Redexis Gas provides natural gas to more than 1,400,000 inhabitants, industries and businesses in 36 municipalities, through 2,300 kilometers of networks built and managed in this autonomous community.
It permanently employs 300 people in gas distribution and transportation through direct and indirect positions.
The company aims to deploy natural gas infrastructures in 14 new municipalities in Murcia, which would mean an investment of 100 million euros in distribution networks in the coming years.
