The spokesperson of the PP Agriculture Committee in the Congress of Deputies, Ascensión Carreño has presented a Proposition no Law where he urges the Government of Spain to maintain the course of the Segura River as it passes through the municipality of Abarán.
Carreño has explained the need to urgently address the necessary work to eliminate the island that has formed in the course of the Segura River, between the new and old bridge as it passes through Abarán.
At this point, the proponent of the initiative has insisted on finding a solution to the problem, "adapting the left bank of the river, placing a mesh that prevents the further development of reeds and reeds from the entrance to the Jarral and the river beach."
Also, Ascensión Carreño has urged, through this motion to "undertake a project of conditioning for public use of trails and itineraries linked to the river."
This project in the opinion of the national deputy of the PP "should include lighting the path from the municipal park to the park of the ferris wheels, the revision of the road, as well as the adequacy and widening of the road in those areas where the He passed".
For Carreño, the various paths and itineraries that the river runs through Abarán are "a highly appreciated tourist resort complemented by the installation of viewpoints such as the Ventanas, from whose elevated position you can see the municipality of Cieza, the Sierras del Oro and Ricote. "
For all this the national deputy of the PP has asked the public entities involved "coordinate efforts, find solutions and alternatives for a public and sustainable use of the river Segura as it passes through Abarán."
