Up to now, 2,500 meters of distribution network have been channeled in the avenues of Cieza and the Constitution and in the streets Estación, Concordia, Mercado, Composer David Templado and San Miguel
The population is supplied from an LNG plant, which connects with the distribution network built in the urban area by means of a high density polyethylene branch 750 meters long
Redexis Gas, one of the main companies dedicated to the transport and distribution of natural gas in Spain, has started the supply of natural gas in the municipality of Abarán.
For this purpose, it has built a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant -located next to the Blanca road, near the roundabout with the RM 513-, from which it distributes to the urban area through a channeled network. .
The company will invest a total of 3 million euros to bring this energy source, in a staggered way, to the entire municipality, creating about 30 jobs during the construction of the necessary infrastructures.
This initiative will allow the supply of natural gas to more than 13,000 inhabitants and nearly 2,000 homes, shops and small abaraneras industries.
The General Director of Energy and Industrial and Mining Activity of the Autonomous Community, Esther Marín;
the mayor of Abarán, José Miguel Manzanares;
the director of Redexis Gas of the Mediterranean area (Murcia and Alicante), Pedro Santos, and the delegate of New Municipalities of Redexis Gas, Manuel Muñoz, today carried out the symbolic act of opening the valve for the start of gas supply to the municipality.

In the Abarán LNG plant, a storage tank with a storage capacity of 30 m3 has been installed, which can be extended to another with the same characteristics when the demand of the municipality so requires.
In addition, the plant has a regasification system consisting of two aluminum heat exchangers (called atmospheric vaporizers), regulation and measurement station, odorization system and gas reheating.
It is also equipped with video surveillance and a communication and remote control system.
For its part, the connection branch between the LNG plant and the population has an extension of 750 meters of pipeline of natural gas, which has been built in high density polyethylene.
Work has also been completed on the urban distribution network on Avenida de la Estación and the stretch that goes from Avenida de Cieza to La Constitución Avenue, as well as on Concordia, San Miguel, Avenida de Colón and Compositor David Templado streets. .
All these areas already have natural gas supply.
To date, 2,500 meters of distribution network have been installed, with plans to reach 5 kilometers before the end of the year.
Regarding the second phase, the mayor of Abarán has announced that the works will begin next August and that the new pipelines will bring this source of clean and efficient energy to the neighborhoods of Cañá and Morzaletes, to the Avenida de Blanca, to the Plaza de la Zarzuela and to the streets Manuel Asensi, Nicolás Gómez, Doctor Molina, Rosario, San Damián, Ramón y Cajal, Doctor Gómez, Bernardo Guillamón, Fernando Gómez, Carmelite Sisters, Menéndez Pelayo, Yelo Valentino and Leonor Molina.
