The Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Adela Martínez-Cachá, visited today the CEIP Virgin of the Gold of Abarán, that the last course received the first prize to the most innovative project in Infantile and Primary Education, that grants the Community.
'Abarán Smart Monuments' was awarded for its innovative approach in the study of the cultural and natural heritage of this municipality, through the development of teaching resources in Spanish and English that include colorful guides and itineraries in the area using technological resources such as reality increased.
Martínez Cachá congratulated the project coordinator, Jesús Caballero, and the educational community of the center and stressed the importance of these awards.
"The awards show the great teachers that exist in the Region and the firm commitment to the educational quality that exists in our centers, which impacts and always benefits the students".
He also congratulated the center because last year one of his students, Lucas Ibáñez, was awarded the first prize in the national contest 'A Constitution for all'.
The counselor also visited the school of Santiago Apóstol, located in the hamlet of La Hoya del Campo de Abarán, where the Community has carried out various works to improve the infrastructure of the center.
The visit to the centers has been made today on the occasion of the beginning of the school year 2018/19.
In Abarán, 1,194 students have returned to the classroom today, and the school has also started with the schoolchildren of Beniel (1,175), Blanca (626), Fortuna (994), La Unión (2,428), Lorquí (587), Mula (1,652), Ojós (12) and San Pedro del Pinatar (2,771).
In total, 11,439 students have returned to the classroom on Wednesday.
