The Ministry of Development and Infrastructure has put out to tender the works to improve the protection of the regional highway RM-514, which connects the municipalities of Abarán and Blanca.
The works will involve a regional investment of more than 258,000 euros and will resolve the landslides that occurred during the rainy season that caused circulation difficulties.
The action consists in the stabilization of two slopes located in the first kilometer of the regional road, called Abarán bypass, through the installation of a barrier against rockfalls and the placement of a curtain mesh with an anti-aging system. erosion.
The general director of Roads, Francisco González Manzanera, accompanied by the mayor of Abarán, José Miguel Manzanares, today presented the action that will reinforce the road safety of the road since "it will end the instability of the slopes and will improve the road safety of the 365,000 vehicles that travel annually through the RM-514 ".
Some screws will also be placed to hold the rocks, and in addition to the protective meshes, an energy dissipator will be installed that will prevent the bouncing of stones in that area from exceeding the road protection barrier.
The companies interested in carrying out these works have until the end of January to present their offers to the tender, which is already published in the profile of the contractor of the Autonomous Community.
