The Ministry of Development and Infrastructure completed the stabilization and protection works against landslides on the regional road between Abarán and Blanca (RM-514), which have involved an investment of 190,400 euros.
The action has been carried out in the last three months and has consisted of installing two meshes on both sides of the road in order to protect its slopes.
The General Director of Roads, José Antonio Fernández Lladó, reported today in Abarán the conclusion of the works that reinforce the road safety of 1,024 vehicles that travel daily on the road.
"Thanks to the stabilization of the trenches of the trench, the landslides of gravel and rocks of more entity of the upper parts will be avoided," explained Fernández Lladó.
The regional official said that in the left slope of the road a dynamic barrier of protection against landslides has been installed that has a great capacity for energy absorption.
In addition, a curtain mesh has been placed in the part under the barrier to hold some rocks of significant size.
An energy sink has also been installed, above the barrier, to prevent rebounds in that area from exceeding the barrier in height.
On the other side of the track, on the right slope, a curtain mesh has been placed in order to hold the rocks and stabilize a small triangular part of the slope.
