The Plan of Works and Services of the Community contemplates an investment in Abarán of more than 240,000 euros for the integral renovation of six main streets of the municipality.
The Minister of Finance and Public Administration, Andrés Carrillo, met yesterday with the mayor of Abarán, Jesus Molina, to know firsthand the status of these actions.
The Minister explained that "the Works and Services Plan is a balloon of oxygen for the municipalities, as it allows them to carry out necessary works that, without this support, would be very difficult to execute, and contributes to reduce the deficit in infrastructures and basic equipment Of the municipalities ".
The 2016 Plan foresees 110,000 euros (104,000 contributed by the Community and the rest by the City) for the replenishment of supply, sanitation and rainwater networks in Luis Carrasco Street, in the section between the streets Alfonso X El Sabio and El Pine tree.
With these works, which are pending adjudication, the correct evacuation of water is guaranteed when heavy rains occur.
These works expand the network of storm water pipes being developed by the City Council in the vicinity of Luis Carrasco Street.
In addition, the Work and Services Plan for 2017 includes a provision of € 130,341 (of which 123,824 are contributed by the Autonomous Community) for the repair of the rainwater network, paving and supply in Juan XXIII street, paving and Supply in the street Churruca, renovation of sidewalks and repair of paving in the avenue of Cieza, repair of paving in the crossing Colón-Cabezo de la Cruz and repair of paving and supply in Menéndez Pidal street, of the Hoya del Campo.
These works, which will soon be tendered, will considerably improve the mobility of the neighbors of the area and reduce the annoyances that occur when there is heavy rains.
The Regional Government, through the Works and Services Plan, articulates a collaboration with municipalities of less than 50,000 inhabitants for the integral and adequate provision of services of local competence.
In 2017 more than 7.8 million euros will be invested, of which six are financed by the Community to execute 65 works in municipalities.
All the actions have been requested by the municipalities, which have carried out the corresponding local agreements and the drafting of the technical projects.
