The Community has invested more than 123,000 euros in the repair and paving of several streets in the municipality of Abarán, a project that are part of the Works and Services Plan of 2017. The Minister of Finance and Administration, Andrés Carrillo, visited the actions today along with the mayor, José Miguel Manzanares, and stressed that "this plan has been the best investment that municipalities have had less than 50,000 inhabitants of the Region in recent years."
Carrillo said that "the most important thing is that these projects benefit citizens, as they reach 550,000 inhabitants of the region, which demonstrates the municipal character of the regional government."
In addition, "enhance infrastructure and basic equipment," he said.
The Works and Services Plan of 2017 that is being executed in Abarán entails the repair and paving of several streets for an amount of 125,738 euros, of which 123,824 are financed by the Community and 1,914 by the City Council itself.
The Minister of Finance and Public Administration stressed that "the works contemplate the improvement of several streets that, because of their condition, need an urgent action in their paving", which entails the repair of the rainwater network, paving and supply in the Juan XXIII, Churruca and Cieza, crossing Columbus, Cabezo de la Cruz and Menéndez Pidal street (Hoya del Campo).
These actions are in addition to those undertaken in the Plan for the Dynamization of Works and Services (Plan Pardos 2016) for the paving, replacement of supply networks, sanitation and rainwater in Luis Carrasco street (between Calle Alfonso X El Sabio and calle El Pino), for an amount of 85,521 euros, which is 100% financed by the Community.
New works
The Minister of Finance stressed that the Works and Services Plan will allocate 246,000 euros in the biennium 2018/2019 so that more relevant works can be undertaken, since "the biennial nature of the Plan now exceptionally lengthens the date of adjudication of the works, but above all allows that, budgetarily, contemplate the 2018 and 2019 exercises as if it were a single budget, "he said.
In addition, all those over 16 years registered in the municipality of Abarán can vote on the projects they wish to be included in this year's Works and Services Plan.
The deadline to vote begins today and runs until Wednesday, April 11.
