The general director of Sports, Antonio Peñalver, today inaugurated the Sports Hall of Abarán IES Villa, whose improvement works completed this summer.
He was accompanied by the local mayor, Antonio Eugenio Gomez and deputy general manager of Sports Facilities and Economic Administration Higher Sports Council, Alfonso Luengo.
The work has been funded by the ministries of Culture and Education in the Region of Murcia, the Higher Sports Council and the City of Abarán, for a total of 1,045,000 euros.
Peñalver stressed the need for "a collective commitment to our young people adopt healthy habits, learn and enjoy all you can give it a sports arena like this."
The arena of the flag's dimensions are 46 x 24 meters, and it can play football, handball or basketball, and other sports like volleyball and badminton.
Equipped with various agencies, new sports facilities include locker rooms and dressing rooms for common monitors and adapted for people with disabilities.
There is also a multipurpose hall and a sports equipment room.
