National MPs Toledo PP, Rocio Lopez, and Cantabria, José María Alonso, members of the Committee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Environment Congress, visited on Monday one of the most important horticultural enterprises in the Region of Murcia, Frutas Esther, SA, located in Abarán, which have seen firsthand how the primary sector is cushioning the crisis.
During this visit, Lopez and Alonso were accompanied by National MP PP Maria Dolores Bolarín Murcia, by the mayor of the municipality, Jesus Molina, and members of the regional PP, as the Deputy Secretary General of Sector, Inmaculada Gonzalez and Executive Secretary of Agriculture, Water and Environment, Jesus Cano.
As explained Cano, "Frutas Esther is a leader in the development and production of fruits in Spain, a company that employs more than 2,000 people between field and storage, mostly women," adding that "through innovation and development, and making the necessary wit, fruits we see here today will, in a few days, in the main markets of Europe. "
Later, the management team of the company, together with policy makers People's Party, have held a meeting to discuss issues directly affecting the food industry, such as the entry of products from third countries, the problem of agricultural insurance and basic aid per hectare, or CAP negotiations among others.
