The Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities and the City of Abarán organized the exhibition 'eclectic body', a sample included in the 'Routes' project through which culture assigns to the municipalities in the Region exhibitions with works from the collection of Art Contemporary Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts (ICA).
On this occasion, a total of 18 pieces of different techniques and formats that can be seen until next April 30 in Room Adolfo Suárez Abarán CIMA building, which opens this project are presented.
In 'eclectic Corps' public enjoy pieces of painting and sculpture by Spanish artists (many of whom were born or closely related to the region) and Antonio Ballester, Mira Bernabeu, Lorenzo Fernandez, Francisco Leiro, José Romero, Sonia Navarro and Concha Martínez Barreto.
Names, in most cases, with a long career behind integrating a sample whose thread the human body.
The general director of ICA, Marta Lopez-Briones, who presented the exhibition with the mayor of Abarán, Jesus Molina, said "Abarán participation in this project of the Ministry that is bringing contemporary art to all citizens through various exhibitions. In total, there are 11 samples included in 'Routes' with which the different municipalities have the opportunity to expand and complete their cultural programming ".
'Eclectic Corps' delves into the special interest of artists to show the human figure;
a representation that sometimes reflected by the absence or the footprint.
The works range from paintings or drawings that review the tradition of portrait (signed by Lorenzo Fernandez and Jose Romero), to photograph the shadows Bernabeu or plasma Antonio Ballester in his paintings and invite reflection on the fluidity of time.
Also exhibited at Abarán two pieces of Francisco Leiro, one of the most important sculptors of the Spanish scene in recent decades;
another sculpture with which Sonia Navarro speaks of absence, the hollow body stops;
and two works by Martinez Barreto addressing loneliness and pain.
The 18 pieces of 'eclectic Body' will remain on display until next April 30 at the newly opened Exhibition Hall Adolfo Suárez Abarán CIMA building will be open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 13:30 hours and from 16:00 to 20:30 hours.
