The Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Francisco Barnabas, accompanied by the mayor of Abarán, Jesus Molina, today put in service a new variant on the RM-514 highway, which links the towns of Abarán and Blanca along the left bank of the River Segura, and that eliminates curves surrounding the Jewish Cabezo.
The new infrastructure, 314 meters long, "is a faster and safer for more than 1,000 alternative vehicles daily pass through the road, especially large vehicles such as trucks and buses, which had difficulties in transit" .
With this action, Bernabe said, "they prevent vehicles passing through a winding path, with small radius curves that increase their difficulty with a dangerous discourse embankment".
The Minister stressed that the construction of the variant, with a budget of 450,000 euros, "led to the execution of an important clearing and rock to make the new rectilinear layout of the road."
Its route accommodates two traffic lanes and hard shoulders of 0.50 meters, with a firm of 15 cm hot asphalt on gravel 20 centimeters.
The performance also included the execution of a work consisting of a drain pipe of 800 mm, and the corresponding signs and markings.
