On Monday April 7 at 12:00 hours, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, Pedro Alberto Cruz Sánchez and the Mayor of Abarán, Antonio Eugenio Gómez, reopened the Covered Pavilion Polideportivo Municipal "Prince of Asturias" Abarán where works have been expanding and improving facilities.
The reforms have involved the creation of new changing rooms and a second floor where it has located a gym and a multipurpose room which will be different uses.
In this event was attended by all members of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport of the Autonomous Community of Murcia and members of the Municipal Corporation.

Meet the Media (Covered Pavilion).
Following these events, is scheduled to be held in Abarán the Board in the Cultural Center Plaza.
The covered pavilion of the Prince of Asturias Sports Centre was opened for the first time April 24, 1987 by Carlos Collado Mena and the then Mayor of Abarán, Antonio Morte.
Opened to coincide with Spain's Handball Championship Junior Women and was built by the company Florencio Pérez Pérez.
The company has carried out the current renovation is the construction CADE SA (Sociedad Anónima Deportiva Quality).
The cost of the work was € 400,000, funded equally by the Ministry of the Presidency of the Autonomous Region of Murcia and the Municipality of Abarán.
The equipment in locker rooms, gym and other facilities totaling approximately 18,000 euros, provided entirely by the City Council and outside Abarán 200,000 euros of the cost of works covered pavilion.
The sports center also has five outdoor courts (among which are the tennis and racquetball), three outdoor pools, one for children under 5 years, a football field with artificial turf and a track Football artificial turf.
