PRESS RELEASE
Abarán, August 7, 2008 - Representatives of the company UTE GINSSA ABARE, we as dealers and managers of public service cleaning and refuse collection Abarán, we point out some issues of concern to the public with respect to statements made by the Mayor of Abarán and some workers in different media, on August 5, 2008, concerning the status of the service and the relationship between local government and our company:
1 That cleaning is required a public service provision, which must ensure Abarán City Council, covering all the costs that this provision represents the management company.
2 nd That the City Council due to the joint venture all the service during the year 2008.
The arrears have been constant since we started providing the service, causing financial difficulties for the management company.
3 º The Town Council has consistently disregarded its contractual commitment to review the costs of services in the past three years, hurting the economic interests of the company and creates a fiscal imbalance.
4 The high rate of absenteeism, which exceeds 30% continuously since the beginning of the concession, resulting in a significant increase in costs that, under current legislation, requires a rebalancing economic-financial to the contract by the municipality.
5 This situation has prompted the joint venture had to contribute more than a million euros of equity to cover this imbalance and ensure continuity of service.
All these factors are causing an unsustainable financial situation for the company, which in no case has the legal obligation to support this incremental cost, since according to the regulations is the City Council which has to cover the actual amount of service.
6 The joint venture officially moved the situation to the municipal corporation for over three years.
Since then we have held numerous meetings to address these issues where there has been no progress, so the company has been obliged to bring the respective claims in the courts, given the lack of response from the municipal government.
Despite the absence of talks resulted in the company keeps open the path of negotiation and service delivery.
The concessionaire has held meetings with workers to inform them of the situation promptly.
7 º GINSSA company UTE ABARE expects to be taken into account this situation and that the City Council is Abarán engage fully in solving the problems affecting this important service to citizens.
