Abarán Mayor, Antonio Eugenio Gómez, has this morning signed the agreement referred to in the Special Plan 2008-2010 by Basic Municipal Infrastructure which will develop work on public roads rehabilitation and upgrading of sewage in the streets Blessed Philemon Santa Cecilia and San Juan Bautista.
Community investment amounts to € 275,000 and the City Council to € 46,925, with overall investment of € 321,925.
The President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, met this morning with the mayors of 45 municipalities in the region to sign the agreements, due to which you can undertake the execution of 118 new initiatives by the extra budgetary allocations of the Autonomous Region included in the Basic Municipal Infrastructure Plan, which represents an additional investment of the Regional Administration of 21 million euros.
This item is part of the Plan for Economic Revitalization and Strengthening of Employment in the Murcia region launched by the regional government last March in order to cushion the effects of the economic crisis in the region.
With this Plan, the Community is working with municipalities in providing municipal services to build new facilities and improve existing infrastructure, such as rehabilitation and construction of buildings and roads, lighting, rural electrification, creating gardens and improving the sewerage other performances.
The contributions range from € 163,000 and € 3.8 million, which were distributed according to population size or surface, among other factors.
Abarán City Council on this project has managed the replacement of the sewage in the streets and Santa Cecilia Blessed Philemon and infrastructure replacement and street paving in San Juan Bautista.
More money for municipalities
Valcárcel has reminded the meeting that the budget of the Autonomous Region for 2009 envisages an increase in funds for the municipalities of 17.31%, which is triple the average increase in the overall budget, amounting to, 5.85 %.
