Abarán Mayor, Antonio Eugenio Gómez, has this morning signed an agreement with the Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, which will improve road safety in the municipality.
The Highways Agency has also signed agreements with the municipalities of Archena, Eyes, Albudeite and Lorca.
The total amount is 3 million euros.
In Abarán will perform works worth EUR 709,732 to strengthen security in the last mile of the MU-513, which connects the town with the A-30.
The aim is to respond to population growth in recent years and the consequent increase in traffic on the access to it.
Archena be conditioned on a section of the MU-530, since the variation of this town to the intersection with the MU-522, to improve the condition of the sidewalks adjoining the road and the installation of street lighting, increasing the safety of pedestrians and the visibility of drivers, thanks to the contribution of 639,243 euros from the Ministry.
Also bury power lines in the area to reduce the risk to pedestrians.
Ojós be conditioned on the track called 'La Pica del Caballo' that connects with the MU-521 MU-522, providing access to Ricote, amounting to 411,057 euros.
This work will extend the existing platform, increasing security in this section in response to requests from local residents.
In Albudeite will build a new access to the neighborhood of Moron, based on the MU-531 road.
This project includes construction of a new masonry on the promenade, for which there is for almost 300,000 euros, which will allow more direct access to local people, improve the fluidity of the old entrance, and the conduct of users.
Finally, the regional government allocated 800,000 euros to Lorca to the adequacy of the section of the MU-D7 which runs from the town of Lorca of Valencia, in the section that provides access to the people of the Mesilla, Morata and Campo López.
This road, which enters the village, has undergone significant development with the surrounding housing and, therefore, has increased traffic and pedestrians, so that improvements in road safety activities on the sidewalks , drainage and lighting, will result in a large number of citizens living near it.
In total, the regional government will allocate for these works nearly three million euros.
This amount, said Ballesta, "is included within the line of subsidies that the Highways intended to municipalities, and this year has allowed for renovation and maintenance of roads and roads in 25 municipalities of the Region Murcia. "
