The Department of Tourism of the City of Abarán has been a sponsor of the first contest Dressage League 2009 held at the Equestrian Club The Perete, which took place on Sunday 15 March.

The championship has also enjoyed the cooperation of the Sports Department.

The technician of Tourism, Susana Aboukhair, and the councilman of Sports City of Abarán, Federico García Montiel, attended the awards ceremony.

The jury was formed, among others, by the Delegate Frederick William Pagan and Joaquin Rodriguez, who served as president of the jury.

Dressage is an Olympic sport in which a binomial consisting of a horse and rider / rider performs a series of exercises on a rectangular and these exercises are scored by judges.

It is one of the few Olympic sports where men and women compete on the same test.

The Equestrian Club is located in Perete Spot of Molax Cañaícas-Barranco, and has been conducting various competitions since 2006.

In the competition involving a total of 20 riders in the categories of juvenile (under 12 years), infant, child and adult riders.

The Club plans to open soon the Pony Club, an initiative intended to bring the little ones to horses and riding and offer the possibility of getting kids familiar with a basic introductory level.

On 28 March is an open day from 12.00 to 14.00 and from 16.00 to 6:00 p.m. that offers the possibility for parents and children to know the club and take a pony ride.
