The Ministry of Public Works and Land Management will invest a total of 2,348,474 euros to improve road infrastructure in Abarán, which will run a series of actions that will enhance communications in the town and increase road safety for drivers and pedestrians .
The Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, who today visited the site accompanied by Mayor Antonio Eugenio Gómez, said that five of the performances will run on the RM-513 highway, a major artery that connects local the county with the N-301 (Madrid-Cartagena).
"These projects will avoid the retention by the municipality's urban core, improve circulation, increase road safety and optimize Abarán connection with the municipalities of Vega Alta" he said.
One of the most prominent projects is the improvement of the voyage of the RM-513, whose total cost amounts to 788,591 euros to finance 90 percent to the Ministry, while the City of Abarán pay the remaining 10 percent.
The event will consist of the overall improvement of the way through the pavement strengthening, construction of sidewalks, replacement of street furniture and installing new lighting systems.
Another action of this Department in the RM-513 is the installation of fall protection systems.
The bill, already drafted, affects the first kilometer of the road and has a budget of 332,705 euros.
The Directorate General of Highways has drafted a project for the rectification of curves and the improvement of the road platform RM B-17, which connects White Abarán through an investment of 250,597 euros.
The counselor also reported that three projects in which the Highways Agency and is currently working to develop medium term, with an estimated investment of one million euros: the strengthening of the RM-513 road, passing through the San José Artesano, improving visibility Abarán access to this same road, and the expansion of the RM A-10, which connects the road to Sell Necklace N-344 (Almería-Valencia).
In addition, the City of Abarán has been integrated into the Public Transport Authority, allowing the line to continue the work of this body under the Ministry, aimed at establishing a single transport authority at the regional level to contribute to vertebrate public transport network economically, efficiently and reliably.
Traffic lights that adapt to traffic
Another of the actions foreseen in the road RM-513 is the adjustment of traffic light at the intersection of Avenida de Cieza, linking urban centers Abarán and Cieza.
This is one of the busiest intersections of the two municipalities, with more than 300 vehicles per hour, so that the measures have a direct impact on the congestion in the area and the safety of pedestrian crossings occur in the environment.
The project, which will be hired in the coming months, amounting to 55,440 euros, will be developed using a novel system for real-time detectors that regulates the function of the traffic light at any given time, allowing the transit of pedestrians and drivers complete safety.
Stimulus to employment with the Plan Fix
During his visit to the municipality, the Minister visited the residences owned by the Housing and Land Institute, located in the suburb of San José Artesano, soon to be upgraded with an investment of 200,000 euros from Fix Plan of the regional administration, by that will suit more than 900 properties through an extraordinary contribution of 1.8 million euros.
