Abarán Mayor, Antonio Eugenio Gomez, and Council Member for the Environment, José Gabriel Cano Montoro, opened the conference on conservation and restoration of the banks in the Middle-Vega Alta del Segura to be held at the Cultural Center Plaza Saturday 25 April.
The conference, divided into two sessions, was first with a series of conferences that highlighted the importance of preserving riparian sections still well preserved biological processes, geomorphological and hydrological and restore those who have lost , thus ensuring good quality of our rivers and improving the aesthetic and recreational values of the area.
The lectures were given by professionals Eduardo Lafuente Sacristán, Area Engineer Mountains Environmental Management and Hydrology of the Segura basin, Josefa Velasco García, member of the Department of Ecology at the University of Murcia, Natalia Llorente Nosti, biologist business group gea 21, Félix Antonio López Carrillo, a biologist at the General Directorate of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity and Daniel Bruno Collados, a member of the Department of Ecology at the University of Murcia.
The second part of the day consisted of a coastal walk guided by the wells of Abarán.
This trip had knowledge of Juan José Martínez Soler, part of the working group Machaon and Paloma Sánchez Martínez, coordinator of Project Ecologists in Action Otter Region of Murcia.

Segura Hydrographic Confederation has published a manual for the restoration of river banks in the Segura River Basin where they have participated, among others, Josefa Velasco García and Natalia Llorente Nosti, two of the speakers at the conference.
