The Department of New Technologies Abarán City Council, in order to inform citizens about the digital switchover, which is scheduled for June 30, and provide all necessary information regarding Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) is conducting an outreach campaign that aims to reach all citizens of the municipality.

The municipal website www.abaran.es provides information on the most common questions users may encounter.

Abarán City Council has made some brochures explaining what DTT and which details the outreach activities to be carried out locally.

During the month of June will be carried out information sessions in local schools, seminars aimed at seniors, will take place in the Pensioner's home and workshops aimed at all audiences and in which DTT tuners will be drawn between attendees.

Also, the Department of New Technologies plans to set up a tent on 26, 27 and 28 June in the Paseo de la Ermita, which will open space for citizens to raise awareness of the new digital terrestrial television.

.- Friday 26 and Saturday 27: from 10.00 to 21.00h.

.- Sunday 28 June: from 10.00 to 14.00.

Schedule of informative seminars which will explain the basics of Digital Terrestrial Television:

.- Wednesday June 17 at 18.00: Pensioner's Home

.- Thursday June 18 at 20.30: Centro Cultural Plaza

.- Wednesday June 24 at 20.30: Centro Cultural Plaza

.- Thursday June 25 at 20.30: Social Centre The Boat (Hoya del Campo)

Also, the City Council has agreed with Abarán telecommunications company Domotelsa technical assistance that over the phone 968 674 774 and email tdtabaran@domotelsa.com everyone will answer questions about DTV and request information the new digital technology.

This service is available until one month after the date for analogue switch-off, ie until July 31, 2009.

The City advises that information leaflets were distributed in all the houses in the municipality to inform the best efficiency.
