Abarán City Council has received the Certificate of Environmental Compensation Issues, as has been noted the Ministry of Agriculture and Water of the Autonomous Community of Murcia.
Environmental compensation of these emissions was made through the project "Reforestation with native species in San José Artesano school."
The Ministry states that the City has offset the emission of 106.45 tons of CO2 in the town of Abarán in 2009.
It is a voluntary initiative, which has launched the Regional Administration to assist in combating climate change through environmental compensation projects.
Is aimed at companies, organizations and institutions that can not reduce their emissions and compensate want through reforestation projects, ecosystem conservation, land stewardship, eco-efficiency projects and environmental awareness campaigns.
