Abarán for the second year will be the permanent headquarters of the Universidad del Mar this summer course to be held at the Cultural Center Plaza from 13 to 17 July.
At the opening conference attended by Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, and Isabel Aguilar, of the General Department of Equality and Modernization.

Abarán Mayor, Antonio Eugenio Gomez, accompanied by the director of the Universidad del Mar, Manuela Lopez Tenes, the rector of the university, Guillermo Díaz Baños, and the Councillor for Local Development, Employment and Youth, José Luis Tornero, presented the summer course "sources of employment in rural areas, to be held at the Cultural Center Plaza from 13 to 17 July.
The teacher of that course, Prudencio Jose Riquelme Perez, was also present at the event.
The course objective is to show the potential of rural areas in the Region of Murcia, explore possibilities for job creation in rural areas, analyze methods of intervention in rural development, to study the Regional Rural Development Programme and Plans district and project development in the new EAFRD programming and study the impact of these initiatives on social cohesion in rural areas.
Abarán Mayor, Antonio Eugenio Gomez said that the course is aimed at both university students and entrepreneurs, local development technicians or anyone interested in the development and processing projects which is a formative and informative opportunity for citizens municipality.
Manuela Lopez Tenes added that "this new scenario in which open possibilities for the development of rural areas due to the introduction of new information technologies and communication, increasing environmental awareness, sustainable exploitation area's resources and policies being developed by the Administration for this drive, making this course a gem. "
Also the director of the University of Mar congratulated the directors of the Faculty of Economy and Finance have completed such program.
The University of Murcia, for the second consecutive year, moved their classrooms to the town of Abarán a course through which it will unveil the aid that the administration used in rural development.
"Completion of the course also promotes academic tourism, and students who come from outside can enjoy the warmth of the town and its people, as well as monuments," he noted Lopez Tenes.
For its part, the course director, Prudencio Jose Riquelme Perez, said this course is created within the framework of the policies of the European Union (including the Leader initiative) and its development will highlight the possibilities rural and economic development policies.
"We in rural welfare is reached similar to that of the cities and claim this paper is rural and citizens living in rural areas of the region," said Riquelme Pérez.
"This is a very practical course adapted to the region and the Ricote Valley area that is not only focused on project management but also to understand the environment," said course director.
Alongside the talks are planned tours around Abarán, White and Cieza.
For his part, Councillor for Local Development, Employment and Youth, thanked the University of the Sea for their support and collaboration for believing in this project and make Abarán second consecutive year to host the University of the Sea "is a course very interesting sources of employment in rural areas and also coincides with the start of the new Agenda Leader of the area and is very interesting to know how that agenda and the availability of grants we have, "said Jose Luis Tornero.
