The Department of Culture of the City of Abarán abaranero announced that Jose Maria Ruiz Gomez will be the harbinger of the Fair and Festival '09 Abarán in a ceremony to be held in the Old Town Square on 18 September.
"Born in the street Abarán Church", his extensive resume emphasize that a degree in mathematics from the University of Granada and a PhD in Mathematics, with honors, from the University of Murcia, Professor of Bachelor of unpaid leave (1982), and University Professor in the Area of Statistics and Operations Research at the University of Murcia (1988).
He has also published over 100 articles in national and international renown and has been involved with communications and presentations in over 50 congresses of national and international level.
Censor is different international journals and has won research projects by public, both regionally and nationally.
He has also trained academics, directed 14 doctoral theses and Master thesis.
He is a member of the Spanish Society of Statistics and Operations Research and the Royal Spanish Mathematical Society and an elected member of the International Statistical Institute and Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Region of Murcia.
Stresses also has held various management positions in college at the University of Murcia and is Director of the Department of Statistics and Operations Research (1987-1991), Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics (1991-2006) and is currently Vice-Chancellor Teachers and Training since 2006.
