The director of the Institute for Youth, Veronica Lopez, accompanied by the Mayor of Abarán, Antonio Eugenio Gomez and territorial president of Caja Mediterráneo, Angel Martínez, today visited the field of social and cultural work Abarán, in which a group of 19 young people involved in cultural promotion programs for children and young people of the town and its villages.

The activities in this field of work began yesterday and will run until July 30.

During this period, volunteers from different communities, conduct activities that bring value to the cultural environment of Abarán, developing, among other actions, the programming of the festivals of the village of Hoya del Campo.

Participants will prepare, conduct and evaluate a series of cultural projects aimed at youth group.

Also be carried out other activities such as guided tours to learn about different municipalities in the region of Murcia, shops and leisure sports.

Volunteers will stay at City Hostel Abarán 'Sierra Gold'.

Also, Lopez visited, accompanied by the Councillor for Youth of the Municipality of Cieza, Maria Isabel Garcia, the international work camp in archeology, for the eighth consecutive year, takes place in Cieza and involving a group of 23 young people between 18 and 26 years.

Volunteers from Spain, France, Russia, Slovakia, Ukraine and Turkey, made the excavation work in the homes of the old Arab city Siyasa Medina, in addition to the standard chip stratigraphic record, plan and section drawings, archaeological photography and insertion structures exposed in the general topography of the site and work classification and inventory of archaeological material.

Along with the archaeological activities, youth will participate in other activities organized, such as guided tours to historic and natural sites Cieza area (Cave and Canyon Serreta Almadenes) descent kayak and sailing resort in rustic rafts by Segura River, caving, hiking, evenings, open air cinema 'Magic Cinema Week', Arabic henna workshops, drumming, massage, music festivals, and tours of the city of Murcia, the beaches of Mar Menor and Cartagena.

The activities of the labor camp began last July 5 and end on 19th of this month.

During this period, volunteers stay at the Youth Hostel of Cieza, located in place 'The Straits'.
