Gamha Association brought together 60 participants in the First National Contest of outdoor painting "Village of Abarán" held last Saturday in the town.
From 9 am, the streets were filled with artists Abarán that reflected their particular vision of the town and its surroundings, streets, monuments and traditions were reflected in the work of contestants from different parts of the Spanish, among them, Sabadell, Elche, Calasparra, Yecla, Almería, Zamora, Blanca, Lorca, Guardamar del Segura, Cieza or Archena.
The jury, composed by Joaquín Salmerón, Director for Museums and Archaeological Heritage of the Municipality of Cieza, Real Paulina Herrera, Bachelor of Fine Arts, the artist Semitiel ciezano Jose Segura and Luis Fernández Murcia painter, decided to select about 18 works from which failed the six winners.
Value of awards:
- Acquisition Prize, worth 600 euros, donated by the Association Gamha and diploma for the work number 20, the author Miguel Mellado Sánchez.
- Acquisition Prize, worth 600 euros, donated by the Association Gamha and diploma for the work of the author number 60 Sofia Tornero.
- Acquisition Prize, worth 600 euros, donated by La Caixa and diploma for the work number 22, author Tomás Ibáñez Blai.
- Third prize: 800 Euro, endowed by Group Europe and diploma for the work of the author # 32 Alfonso González Araujo.
- Second prize of 1000 euros, donated by Restaurant Pericón and diploma, for the play number 46, the author Antonio García Sánchez.
- First prize of 1500 euros, endowed by the City of Abarán and diploma for the work number 19 of the author William Ferri Soler.
Abarán Mayor, Antonio Eugenio Gómez, highlighted the excellent turnout, "Initiatives like these enrich the cultural life of our town, so that the City Council of Abarán we support the activities of local associations and we hope this event will strengthen with the cooperation of all. "
