This morning, the government delegate in the Region of Murcia, Rafael González Tovar and Abarán Mayor, Antonio Eugenio Gómez, opened the metal bridge over the River Segura it passes through the town after the completion of restoration works same.
The ceremony was also attended by members of the Municipal Corporation and the Director General of Highways, Jose Guijarro.
The government delegate pointed out that these works abaraneros recovery for the old bridge have been carried out thanks to the 1 percent program funded by the Ministry Cultural Development and have come at a cost of 489,128 euros.
He also stressed that the old bridge is one of the Abarán engineering emblematic of the town, with the score with a Cultural Monument status and plays a first-class urban connecting the core of the population with the Virgen del Oro neighborhood
In his speech, González Tovar has reminded the people most actively have worked to make this project is carried out.
"These works, explained the Government Delegate, are intended to recover the Spanish heritage from the 1 percent of investment in public works of the Ministry of Development."
He has also stated that "the financing is carried out by the subsidy scheme by signing cooperation agreements with municipalities and autonomous regions of aid applicants."
Abarán Mayor, Antonio Eugenio Gómez, has referred to this work as well for all abaraneros and especially for residents of the Barrio Virgen del Oro, "a quality infrastructure which is a capital asset and cultural interest that we all have to conserve. "
Gómez has called awareness Abarán citizens, "to, together, care for and preserve this landmark environment and what, as this work gives us the abaraneros improvements in services and infrastructure and helps to improve our quality of life. "
