Abarán City Council is joining the initiative to carry out the process of implementation of Local Agenda 21 in order to develop its own "Sustainable Development Strategy", defining a set of priorities and performance criteria to guide the model local development towards sustainability guidelines and improving the quality of life of citizens.
The Department of the Environment wishes to present further assessment prepared by the Local Agenda 21 on socio-environmental factors of the municipality and the new logo identifying the process and the creation of "Citizen Forum" aimed at promoting citizen participation in a ceremony to be held on October 26 at City Hall Abarán.
The institutional web www.abaran.es has a link that brings together all the information about Local Agenda 21, where users can learn about the process of implementation of Local Agenda 21, the forum for citizen participation and socio-environmental diagnosis of the municipality .
Sustainable development with its own identity
Abarán City Council aims to achieve a step closer to joining the economic and social development of our town and protecting the environment, in order to achieve what is known as sustainable development.
To give identity to this integration process has created a new logo for the Local Agenda 21.
Authorship or Socio-Environmental Assessment Abarán
The socio-environmental diagnosis presents the findings of a study on the state of the municipality through environmental, social and economic factors, including a SWOT analysis in order to identify potential weaknesses, threats, strengths and opportunities Abarán and its environment.
The officers involved in the process have been municipal technicians, environmental experts, representatives of local associations and citizens of the municipality.
Furthermore, it has carried out a qualitative analysis (analysis of public perception) to understand the perception that different sectors of the population are in their municipality.
This documentation is accompanied by a document of social and environmental indicators that will allow us to monitor the sustainability of different sectors of society, showing the current situation of the municipality and the trends that each of both environmental factors, socio- economic and organizational will follow.
To do this, we rely on information provided by the diagnosis.
