The Ombudsman for the Region of Murcia, José Pablo Ruiz Abellán, Abarán visited on Monday to give a talk about the functions of that institution.
The conference, organized by the Association of Housewives, Consumers and Users San Cosme y San Damian Abarán, focused on the recent establishment of this service in the Region of Murcia, its routine operating protocol for the resolution of potential conflicts between citizens and various government and the powers and responsibilities of the Ombudsman.
Ruiz Abellán explained that the Ombudsman in the Region of Murcia is a young institution, established this year, framed in an interesting field to help the citizens: "We are available to address their complaints to the possible malfunction of administrations "he said.
"It gives me tremendous pride to be the first Ombudsman in the Region of Murcia, the commitment to implement this institution - went on responsibility and effort required," said Jose Pablo Ruiz Abellán.
"The figure of the Ombudsman is to serve all citizens, especially the weakest," he said.
This is a free service that provides advice to resolve issues and seek to defend rights and freedoms of citizens, especially in regard to the framework of local government, regional, state agencies and institutions, corporations, universities , etc.
Born in 2008, "so far have received about 500 complaints, of which 360 are closed," said the Ombudsman.
As indicated, the work of this institution is to monitor all administrations, which ensures data confidentiality, and she can go all citizens who wish, whether or not residents of the Autonomous Community of Murcia.
From there he managed the complaint, which must always be signed by the city, and begin procedures for issuing a resolution.
If exhausted diplomatic channels with the administration, the order issued is not affected, the city must go to court if it wants to resolve the conflict.
Among the topics on which to intervene are aspects of the education, problems of environmental, noise, cleaning plots, issues of poor care or poor care in hospitals, poor anesthetic treatment, social services, circumstances arising from the Act dependency, immigration issues, issues that relate to Social Security pensions, registrations in the Registry and others.
The Ombudsman acts as the city has exhausted all possible resources for dialogue with the competent authorities, as appropriate.
So if exhausted the normal administrative channels can not solve your problem, the Ombudsman, at the request of the city, begins an investigation.
The main work of the Ombudsman should aim to investigate those complaints from citizens regarding government, after which address, where appropriate, recommendations to relevant agencies to achieve an improvement of administrative services.
