The Ministry of Public Works and Planning, through the Directorate General of Highways, will invest 233,160 euros to put up a stretch of road between the towns of Abarán and White (RM-B17) exposed to landslides or rocks in the roadway.
The Director of Roads, Jose Guijarro, said the improvement of this road, which records about 340,000 trips a year, "will improve road safety, facilitate the conduct and prevent landslides and flooding material of the road" .
This road runs a winding route through the sloping ground, due to weather, material detachment occurs occasionally on the track.
To avoid this, we carried out refurbishment work that will lead to a separation of 600 meters between a stretch of road that zone.
It is also planned paved road, building access to adjoining properties, and place protective railings and curbs.
The project also includes renovation of the runway lighting and marking horizontal and vertical, and the cleaning of ditches and brush to improve visibility.
It also eliminates some curves and construct a drainage system to remove water from springs that affect the pavement, "all within four months, so the condition on road traffic in the area will be minimal" within a project that will contribute to promoting the security of communications between the two municipalities, concluded Guijarro.
