The Department of Women Abarán City Council has included in the activities of the Women's Week a series of workshops sharing housework aimed at students of 4 º ESO.
These activities have included learning everyday tasks such as sewing, ironing, washing and cooking, and have also taught the basics of DIY and electricity.
These workshops, which have been developed in Fahuarán IES and IES Villa de Abarán, intended to sensitize young people about the benefit to the division of household tasks so that all members will cooperate and have also free time for leisure activities.
The main objective is to achieve real equality between men and women, so that activities that were traditionally assigned to boys and girls have been made in these workshops, and domestic tasks that usually fall on the female or mother has been involved boys.
This program has been conducted for 2 hours of lessons in each of the centers and evaluation by program managers indicated that the students have been very active and was very satisfied.
